for the "jewels" I think add chopped green, red, orange, yellow bell pepper to the cream cheese mixture.

Sounds fabulous. Silly question maybe, but where are the "jewels"? I figured it might have capers or some other spice pinned to the salmon.

Good question. I wondered the same thing. I owuld have thought capers or pimentos.
edensong 2 years, 7 months ago said:
Oh, hadn't thought about pimentos. Might be worth adding.

I love salmon and I'm always looking for a new way to fix it. Can't wait to try this.

The kosher salt you sprinkle on while cooking is the jewels :)
We made this last night. YUM! We will definitely be making this one again, simple yet yummy.
I did have one difference, rather than a thick fillet I had some thinner but wide fillets that I sliced about 2/3 of the way through down the middle so I could fold them over. Might be a bit easier than actually butterflying a thick fillet especially if you don't have a very sharp knife. It held together just fine all through the grilling. Because it was a bit thicker I had to grill more like 9 or 10 minutes on each side. It came out perfect though. Quite possible the best I've ever done grilling fish :) I uploaded a picture as this recipe didn't have one yet (and I was quite proud of it).

Made this tonight: yummers! I'm not a cilantro fan at all, but it's delicate in this cream cheese sauce. Made it with trout and used low fat cream cheese. Thanks for posting this one!

We tried it - we LIKED it! Excellent recipe. I put some "fleu de sel" on top and that constitutes jewels if you ask me. Thanks.

This was so delicious!!! The creamy cilantro cheese matched so well with the salmon. I baked it though as I dont have an indoor grill. Near the end of the cooking i brushed the salmon w/ a bit of garlic butter and then sprinkled fresh chiffonade cilantro on top before serving. It was so yummy!
This is a new fave. I'm gonna make it again this weekend for when my Mom comes over for supper. :)
GREAT RECIPE! love love love it.
