Daffodil Lemon Sauce

- 1/2 cup sugar shopping list
- 4 teasp. cornstarch shopping list
- dash of salt shopping list
- 1 cup water shopping list
- 2 egg yolks beaten shopping list
- 2 TBSP butter shopping list
- 1/2 teasp. fresh lemon peel grated shopping list
- 2 TBSP. lemon juice shopping list
How to make it
- mix sugar, cornstarch, salt in a sauce pan
- gradually stir in water
- cook and stir over low heat until thick and bubbly
- stir little of the hot mixture into the egg yolks
- add egg yolk mixture back into hot mixture
- cook and stir for 1 more min
- remove from heat
- add butter, lemon peel and the lemon juice
- mix well
- serve warm over cake or ice cream
