How to make it

  • mix sugar, cornstarch, salt in a sauce pan
  • gradually stir in water
  • cook and stir over low heat until thick and bubbly
  • stir little of the hot mixture into the egg yolks
  • add egg yolk mixture back into hot mixture
  • cook and stir for 1 more min
  • remove from heat
  • add butter, lemon peel and the lemon juice
  • mix well
  • serve warm over cake or ice cream

    Mom's 60th & she hates icing. She wanted Her old Carrot cake recipe with this Daffodil sauce. Fantasic!! Ahh childhood memories. Thanks for the post you saved the party...I couldn't find the recipe anywhere.(3bhg ckb)
