I was hoping the tangy came from the horseradish and not the vinegar, which it did! I cut this in half, my calculator and I guessing that 2/3 of a cup of ketchup would do the trick and it seemed fine. I had too much stuff to do today to baste every 2.5 minutes plus my broiler doesn't have a temperature setting. I set my oven to 375F and piled on some sauce. Cooked for 15 minutes then piled on some more and cooked for 35 minutes more. I used three skinless thighs (bone in) and probably had enough sauce for a couple more. Very tasty! I think fresh garlic would work in this, too. I added a picture and a thread in IMI. 10/19/13 Thanks, pso!

A 50/50 mix of white wine vinegar and apple juice should be fine. We're looking for that fruity tang.

Haven't done it with a cut up fryer, but take the recipe and own it.

Think there is a recipe here at GR to make your own Old Bay seasoning.

Dust off your old juicer and run an apple through it.

OK...found the Old Bay. Now I am out of cider vinegar. Could I sub a white wine vinegar? And I have a whole chicken cut up...surely that would be fine.

Horseradish is a nice touch. Ang, I've seen the Old Bay in powder form in tins.

Well you know I had to come check out the low-bombs. I don't see anything wrong with this one so far and am currently printing out to try on the grill. My only problem is I have the hardest time finding Old Bay seasoning that is not in the bag. Is there such a thing? Cuz around here....I am not seeing it.
