Slow Cooker Scalloped Au Gratiny Kinda Potatoes Recipe
What could be easier than to make these in the morning for an evening of entertaining friends. (And don't you like my recipe name?)

Ingredients
  • 1/2 teaspoon cream of tartar
  • 1 cup water
  • 8 to 10 potatoes, peeled and thinly sliced
  • 1 large sweet onion, coarsely chopped
  • salt to taste
  • ground black pepper to taste
  • 1 cup cheddar cheese, shredded
  • 4 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 1 can cream of celery, mushroom or chicken soup
  • 1 teaspoon paprika

Directions
  1. In bowl, dissolve cream of tartar and water.
  2. As you slice potatoes, put slices in dissolved mixture.
  3. When finished, toss potatoes and then drain.
  4. Layer half the potato slices in bottom of greased slow cooker.
  5. Sprinkle with half the onion, half the cheese and 2 tablespoons flour.
  6. Repeat.
  7. Spoon and spread soup over the top.
  8. Sprinkle with paprika.
  9. Cover and cook on LOW setting 8 to 10 hours.

These sound yummy for sure... You can never fail with potatoes..


These sound great. Do you really have to cook them 8 to 10 hours? I'm thinking 1 hour on high and a few hours on low.
