Hi there invisiblechef ;-) Yes, you could steam them but I personally think the tomato sauce or juice would be missed.

This is very simmilar to my recipe ( that I can't find) but instead of simmering they are baked in the oven.

Picture perfect. One of my favorites. I love going to Los Angeles to Canters restaurant and getting their cabbage rolls. Actually, cabbage rolls anywhere is just fine with me. Dang I love cabbage rolls and baking with the sauce is pretty much a must for me. take out some rolls from the pan, spooning on some sauce, oh I can taste it now. thanks, JJ.
