Hi there invisiblechef ;-) Yes, you could steam them but I personally think the tomato sauce or juice would be missed.

This is very simmilar to my recipe ( that I can't find) but instead of simmering they are baked in the oven.

I am going to make these when I am in the new home next month for my two grandkids, and yes I will bake them in the oven slowly all day, so I can remember what our home used to smell like with these cooking in the oven when I was a young girl. Thanks for the recipe

This recipe sounds great and I would substitute the ground beef with ground turkey/chicken. Thank you for posting.

Picture perfect. One of my favorites. I love going to Los Angeles to Canters restaurant and getting their cabbage rolls. Actually, cabbage rolls anywhere is just fine with me. Dang I love cabbage rolls and baking with the sauce is pretty much a must for me. take out some rolls from the pan, spooning on some sauce, oh I can taste it now. thanks, JJ.

Outstanding! I was watching Guy on the Food Channel last night and he stopped in a diner where they made cabbage rolls and now here is your recipe. And, my friend, you get my ^5 and honors too.
