How to make it

  • Preheat broiler.
  • Combine first 5 ingredients in a bowl, and stir with a wisk. Peel shrimp, leaving tails intact. Add shrimp to maple mixture, tossing to coat. Remove shrimp from bowl, and discard marinade. Cut each prosciutto slice lengthwise into 4 strips. Wrap 1 prosciutto strip around each shrimp; pin prosciutto strip to shrimp with toothpick. Thread shrimp onto 4 (8-inch) skewers. Place skewers on a broiler pan coated with cooking spray, and broil 3 minutes on each side or until done.
  • Remove from skewers and serve up in a bowl with tongs.
  • Each shrimp has about 13 calories.

    Yum. I was afraid I wouldn't be able to taste the marinade but I did! A little spicy from the chili powder (I used chipotle) but not too much. Its a really great flavor combination. I cooked these on my charcoal grill and did 3 minutes each side and they turned out perfectly. I had eight shrimp but I didn't bother to cut down the marinade. I ate them all. :-) Soaked the skewers and toothpicks in water for 20 minutes.

    Just wish I could get Maple Syrup over here! They do a similair one in some of the Tapa bars, but not as succulent as these sound!
