Hot Onion Dip. This delectable dip has the reputation of being one of the best kept secrets of some southern cooks. That's what I was told when this recipe was shared with me.

- 12 to 16 ounces frozen chopped onions (3 to 4 cups)
- 24 ounces quality cream cheese, softened
- 2 cups grated Parmesan cheese
- 1/2 cup mayonnaise
- Corn chips or assorted crackers

Ingredients

12 to 16 ounces frozen chopped onions (3 to 4 cups) shopping list
24 ounces quality cream cheese, softened shopping list
2 cups grated parmesan cheese shopping list
1/2 cup mayonnaise shopping list
corn chips or assorted crackers shopping list

How to make it

Thaw onions
Roll them in paper towels, squeezing to remove excess moisture
Preheat oven 425 degrees
Stir together onions, cream cheese, Parmesan cheese, and mayonnaise until well combined
Transfer to a shallow 2 quart souffle dish
Bake about 15 minutes or until golden brown
Serve with corn chips or assorted crackers

I think I would saute' some onions instead of buying frozen ones. May give it a different flavor & consistency,tho.

Yes, this does look great but I wonder too how well it would work with fresh onions as I've never seen the frozen variety in our area stores ... would you have to saute and squeeze-dry them first? Thoughts?
