Holiday Butterscotch Yams

- 6 medium yams, cooked, peeled, and quartered or 2 - 17 oz cans yams, well drained. shopping list
- 1/2 cup Karo light or dark corn syrup shopping list
- 1/2 cup brown sugar, firmly packed shopping list
- 1/4 cup heavy cream or half & half shopping list
- 2 Tbsp margarine or butter shopping list
- 1/2 tsp salt shopping list
- 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon shopping list
- 2 cups marshmallows (optional) shopping list
How to make it
- Place yams in 13" x 9" x 2" baking dish.
- Bake in 325 degree oven for 15 minutes.
- In saucepan, mix remaining ingredients and stir constantly until mixture comes to a boil.
- Boil for 5 minutes, stirring constantly.
- Pour mixture over yams.
- Bake, basting often for 15 minutes more.
- If adding marshmallows:
- Remove from oven and sprinkle mini marshmallows over top of yams.
- Place under broiler just long enough to lightly brown marshmallows.
- Remove and serve.
