Italian Roast

- 1 medium size rump roast (or any kind of roast you choose) shopping list
- worchestershire sauce shopping list
- 1 medium onion, finely chopped shopping list
- 1 bell pepper, finely chopped (optional) shopping list
- 2-3 cloves minced garlic shopping list
- 2 cans tomato paste shopping list
- 1 extra large can crushed tomatoes shopping list
- italian seasoning to taste (I use 2 Tablespoons) shopping list
- 1/2 teaspoon dried basil shopping list
- salt and pepper to taste shopping list
- 1/2 cup sugar (or to your taste; I like a sweet gravy) shopping list
- 3 Tablespoons olive oil shopping list
How to make it
- Sprinkle roast with Worchester sauce and then season with salt and pepper; brown all sides in 2 T olive oil. Remove from pot. Add another T olive oil and fry tomato paste and minced garlic for 5 minutes. Add sugar, 2 cans water, chopped onions and bell pepper; mix well and cook for an additional couple of minutes, constantly stirring. Add crushed tomatoes, cover and cook for 15 minutes. Add italian seasonings and other seasonings. Add the roast to pot of gravy and simmer for several hours. Serve with your favorite pasta and top with grated parmesan cheese if desired.
