Use mini-semi-sweet chips. Add 1/4 cup of chopped nuts in the shortbread and 1/2 cup in the brownies.

I made two batches of this recipe and both were good. I used semi-sweet mini-chips instead of regular chips. Also added chopped nuts to the shortbread and brownies on the second batch. Great recipe...shortbread AND brownies at one time. What a combo.

This sounds great, I love both desserts by themselves, so might as well throw them together!

It's a fantastic recipe, but it is missing the Wow factor...needs toasted nuts, ground up chocolate expresso beans, something!!
