Ingredients

How to make it

  • Preheat the oven to 375 degrees. Toss together the turnips and onion wiht the melted butter in a 9 inch round baking dish.
  • cover with foil and bake for 30 minutes.
  • Heat the cream, anchovies, nutmeg and pepper to a low boil.
  • Cook for one minute.
  • Remove the turnips and onions from the oven and take off the foil.
  • Pour the sauce over, toss well, and sprinkle the blue cheese over the
  • dish.
  • Return the turnips to the hour, uncovered, for one hour.
  • If the top isn't golden brown, run under the broiler until it is a lovely golden toasty color.

    I have a bunch of turnips in the frig and I'm going to give this a trial run before the Big day. I'll post a legit picture once I make it.

    This sounds wonderful. I love blue cheese. When I read the title I thought you meant Limburger Cheese. Now that's some really stinky cheese!

    Oh Notcho, that sounds devine!!!! I love turnips, I love blue cheese, I love the thought of combining them - thanks for a great new Thanksgiving side...E and I were just talking about it last night, trying to figure out what to make besides the green bean casserole - this one is PERFECT!
