Moms Swiss Steak Recipe

Ingredients

Round or Chuck Steak, 2 " thick

1/2 c flour

2 t salt

1 t black pepper

Shortening

2 T Worchestershire

1 onion, sliced in rings

1 large can whole tomatoes (Hunts, or other that is NOT sweet)

** I usually add some seasoned salt, garlic pepper, and italian seasoning - just a few shakes of each **

Directions

Mix together flour, salt and pepper

Pound into both sides of steak

Brown both sides of steak in deep electric skillet, in 1 - 2 T melted shortening

Lay onion slices on top

Sprinkle with worcestershire

Cover with tomatoes

Shake other seasonings over all

Heat to simmer

Reduce heat to low

Cover and cook 1 1/2 hours

Sounds good, maybe the way my mom use to make it also except I think she added bell pepper to hers too. Bookmarking this one to give it a try, didn't have mom's recipe so hoping this will be similar. Thanks for sharing, great post.
