Hot Crab Bread
From krumkake 16 years agoIngredients
- 4 tablespoons butter, softened shopping list
- 3 tablespoons mayonnaise (use real mayonnaise for this recipe) shopping list
- 5 ounce jar Kraft Old English Sharp cheese spread shopping list
- ½ teaspoon garlic salt shopping list
- ½ teaspoon onion powder shopping list
- ¼ teaspoon celery salt shopping list
- 1 tablespoon dried parsley flakes shopping list
- 1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese shopping list
- 2 green onions, diced finely shopping list
- 6 ounces canned crab meat (use the good stuff!), well drained shopping list
- 1 large loaf French bread, sliced in half lengthwise shopping list
How to make it
- In a medium bowl, cream together butter, mayonnaise, Old English cheese spread, and the seasonings.
- Stir in shredded sharp cheddar, diced onions, crab meat.
- Spread the crab mixture evenly over the 2 halves of French bread. Lay bread halves on a cookie sheet (I line mine with foil for easy clean up) and bake at 375 degrees until spread is hot and bubbly, about 12 to 15 minutes.
- I like to turn on the broiler for just a minute or two at the end of baking, to get a nice light golden brown on the top of the loaves.
- Remove bread from oven and cut into slices for serving.
