Anchovy Bread

- 1 loaf of frozen bread dough shopping list
- 1 2 ounce can of flat anchovy fillets with the oil reserved shopping list
- 8 tbsp of tomato sauce shopping list
- freshly grated black pepper shopping list
- olive oil shopping list
How to make it
- Defrost the frozen bread dough.
- Let rise and punch down.
- Roll out to a 12 x 18 inch rectangle.
- Mince the anchovy fillets.
- Sprinkle evenly over the dough.
- Combine the anchovy oil with 5 tbsp of the tomato sauce, pour over bread evenly; spread with your fingertips.
- Season lightly with freshly cracked black pepper.
- Oil a baking sheet with the olive oil.
- Roll up the dough lenghwise like a jelly roll.
- Place on baking sheet in a horseshoe shape.
- Spread the dough with the remaining tomato paste to cover.
- Cover with plastic wrap and allow to double in size.
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
- Decorate loaf with extra anchovies if desired.
- Bake 45 minutes until medium brown.
- Cool on a wire rack.
- Great toasted with cream cheese. But you didn't hear me say that....
