Ingredients
  • 1 large head of cabbage, shredded
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 6 T butter, divided
  • 1 can cream of mushroom soup
  • 1 - 8 oz processed cheese loaf, cubed
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 1⁄4 c dry bread crumbs

Directions
  1. Cook cabbage in boiling salted water until tender; drain thoroughly.
  2. In a large skillet, sauté onion in 3 tablespoons of butter until tender.
  3. Add soup and mix well.
  4. Add cheese; heat and stir until melted.
  5. Remove from heat.
  6. Stir in cabbage, salt and pepper.
  7. Transfer to an ungreased 2-quart baking dish.
  8. In a small skillet, melt remaining butter.
  9. Cook and stir bread crumbs in butter until lightly browned.
  10. Sprinkle over casserole.
  11. Bake uncovered in preheated 350-degree oven for 20 to 30 minutes or until heated through.

A friend brought this to a potluck -- she also had never tried it. Most of it went into the garbage. The flavors don't work together. Sorry, but I noticed you posted without trying. My advice...don't.


Added to the VELVEETA group. It sounds like a good one to me.
