This crispy bread is really good with soups---I've made it for years! :)

Ingredients
  • 2 1/2 c. AP flour
  • 1 tsp. white sugar
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 2/3 c. water
  • 1 egg white
  • 2 Tbs. butter, melted
  • 2 egg whites, beaten (for top; right before baking)
  • 2 Tbs. sesame seeds (for top; right before baking)

Directions
  1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees F.
  2. In a large bowl, stir together flour, sugar and salt.
  3. Add water, 1 egg white and melted butter; mix well to make a stiff dough.
  4. Knead until dough is smooth, about 5 min.
  5. Divide dough into 10 balls.
  6. Roll each ball on lightly floured surface until paper thin.
  7. Place on ungreased baking sheet.
  8. Brush with egg white and sprinkle with sesame seeds.
  9. Bake for 10 to 12 min., until light golden brown.

I used to be able to buy Lavosh in a pliable round that I used for wrap sandwiches. How do you cook it without it getting hard? I'd love to be able to make those wraps again. :)

A local favorite here uses the lavosh as a cracker bottom, and add all sorts of toppings and then bakes it. It is wonderful. I'm going to try this one.
