this is like ''Poppycock" or " Fiddle Faddle'. For me they never have enough nuts.. with this recipe you can add the kind and amount you like.. recipe is from a Gifts from the Kitchen cookbook..

Ingredients
  • 12 cups freshly popped popcorn
  • 1 cup blanched slivered almonds
  • 1 cup pecan halves
  • 1 cup cashews
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1 cup firmly packed brown sugar ( i use light brown sugar )
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 1 teasp. vanilla

Directions
  1. in an 11 x 14-inch lightly greased roasting pan
  2. toss the popped popcorn and the nuts
  3. ..............................................
  4. in a heavy sauce pan
  5. melt butter. stir in brown sugar and honey
  6. bring to a boil and boil for 5 minutes without stirring
  7. remove from heat and stir in the vanilla
  8. pour syrup over the popcorn and nuts mixture
  9. stir until coated
  10. ...................................................
  11. bake in a preheated oven at 250' F for 1 hour
  12. stir every 15 minutes
  13. store in a airtight container
  14. makes about 4 quarts
