This is probably the national dish of Poland. It is fantastic served steaming on a cold day with some nice crusty bread. Sour and sweet at the same time. One of my favorites. :D

Recipe looks real good. I used to make homemade sauerkraut but no longer have a garden or a room where it can do it's thing. Now have to buy at the grocery store. (Not as good as homemade!!!!)

I've always wanted to try and make this. (My Dad was Polish). Good tip about rinsing out the sauerkraut first - I like it as it is out the jar, but my husband won't touch it. Maybe this dish will change his mind?
