This is a holiday favorite! A new twist on an old Jewish grandmothers recipe....My family requests at least 3 of these during the holidays! One of my favorites!!!

you can also use fat free cream cheese, or 1/2 splenda-1/2 sugar mixture....for the full flavor try the original recipe first, and test the low-sugar, low fat version before serving it.

This is superb - just finished a bowl of this. made with my 'Stirling Castle' apples (cooker- eater). Added about 1/4 cup less sugar than stated. Baked in a rayburn oven heated with wood.
