  • In a large bowl, combine cream cheese, sugar, and salt; stir until well blended. Stir in whipping cream. With an electric mixer, beat mixture until stiff. Store in refrigerator.

    Mmmmm. Oh Shirley, I love Devonshire cream! My grandfather used to cut large slices of my Grandmother's fresh white bread, slather it with homemade strawberry jam and then pour Devonshire cream over it all! That's what we ate for breakfast when I stayed with them summers! He loved his food! I'm keeping this recipe for sure!!

    what a great idea, Shirley! does it keep for a day or two? i will be able to use it on my apple cake *slobber* - will be just right. i never use 'normal' whipped cream for myself because it is to 'sticky' and sweet. this will be just right for me. thank you!
