OK, here's another non-food recipe. I got it from the butterfly expert at the huge butterfly display in Disney World. He's an old guy named Pappy Yawn. (kidding.) Most gardeners don't realize they're killing harmless butterflies along with the pests.

I love this!!! I have been wanting to find a natural way of killing bugs and not harming the butterflies or anything else for that matter. Thank you!!!

Ya reckon this will work with those little pesky white thingys that are in my dirt in the hanging baskets, etc? I spray my wax begonia with water and a dollop of dish detergent for the yellow bugs (some type of aphid that gets on it at certain times of the year. I watch what I use as DO NOT want to kill flutterbys and the lizards. Great post.

I hope it kills the tiny white thingys (I love that word) in your potting soil. As you know, the oil and soap coat the little buggers (buggers, Ha Ha) and suffocate them. They can't breath, either. :^)
