Ingredients
  • 1 Package Devil’s Food cake mix ( I used only half of the batter
  • and saved the rest for my next posting)
  • 1/3 cup chopped hazelnuts
  • 125 g chopped unsweetened chocolate, chopped
  • ¾ cup heavy cream
  • 2 tbsp butter, softened

Directions
  1. Preheat oven to 375F. Prepare a 12 muffins tray with paper or silicon cups. Make cake mix as directed on back of package. Fill each muffin cup till 3/4 of the cup. Sprinkle hazelnuts over top of each. Press them slightly with a teaspoon. Bake for 20-25minutes. Cool.
  2. Glaze:
  3. Heat the cream until simmering point, pour over the chopped chocolate and stir until smooth. Add the butter and stir until combined. Set aside until thickened slightly and drizzle by tablespoonful over each muffin. Set aside to set for 10 minutes. Using a teaspoon, drizzle the rest of the glaze again in a stripes shape over the top of each muffin. Chill.

Mmmmm these look wonderful!!

Hi Ahmed your wife must love this too, great idea!

Oh my goodness! Oh how I wish I had one right now! Tell your wife she had a great idea! jett

I'm going to make this right now! I think to make it easier, instead of the gnache topping, I'll just drizzle some nutella (chocolate hazelnut spread) over the top .. Ooo YUMM

Oh boy! and I'm in such a chocolate mood right now! I love easy recipes that use a cake mix. Especially when I'm in a rush. Dee

Oh yeah....:)

Yummmm! A 5 to you and your wife! They look fabulous! Tippy

Forgive my constructive critisism on this, I know you're the super ninja soul-master of baking and I'm just a wannabe, but those boxes tell you to use water and oil, that's kinda gross, especially if you're putting butter in the glaze. When you serve butter and oil together, especially in the same dish, people can get sick. I've learned this the hard way. Your best bet is to substitute oil for melted butter and the water for milk. Maybe throw in some brown or granulated sugar and a dash of vanilla. That's always worked for me. As for the glaze, it sounds great and I promise you I will use this one day.
p.s. If I was your wife, I'd be 10,000 lbs.

Ahmed these look wonderful, bet they taste the same, what a great post. I've never heard that mixing butter an oil together in the same dish would make you sick. Some of the most well known chef on the food channel mix it all the time and they tell you to do so. I've followed there instructions and had great results. Anyway you got my 5 Ahmed, thanks for sharing this one with us. God Bless
