Cherry Devilicious Cake

Thought I would share this one. Chocolate & cherries you can't go wrong.
Ingredients
- 1 package red devil's food cake mix(2 layer size) shopping list
- 8-oz cream cheese, softened shopping list
- 2 Tablespoons sugar shopping list
- 2 Tablespoons milk shopping list
- 1 package whipped topping mix(Dream Whip) shopping list
- 16-oz can dark sweet pitted cherries shopping list
- 2 Tablespoons cornstarch shopping list
- 2 Tablespoons sugar(another one!) shopping list
- 1/4 cup water shopping list
- 1/4 cup Burgundy wine shopping list
How to make it
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees F
- Prepare cake mix according to package directions;
- Grease a 10-inch fluted tube pan or bundt pan.
- In mixing bowl, beat together cream cheese, the 2 Tbsp sugar and milk until fluffy.
- Prepare topping mix according to package directions; fold into cream cheese mixture.
- CHILL
- Drain cherries, reserving syrup.
- In a small saucepan, combine cornstarch and remaining sugar, mixing well.
- Gradually stir in cherry syrup & water.
- Cook and stir over medium heat until thickened & bubbly.
- Stir in cherries, heat thoroughly.
- Remove from heat; stir in burgundy.
- Spoon cheese mixture into center of cake.
- Top with some of the warm cherry sauce.
- Slice cake and pass along additional cherry sauce.
