  • Preheat oven- 350*
  • 3/4 cup cocoa powder AND 4 teaspoons veg. oil (OR , 4 squares Semi-Sweet Baking Chocolate)
  • 3/4 cup canola oil ( OR 3/4 c.shortening)
  • 2 cups white sugar
  • __________________________
  • 4 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • __________________________
  • 1 cup. white flour
  • 1/4 cup whole wheat flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon soda
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • (opt.) 1 c. chopped nuts
  • Bake at 350* for 30 mins. (Don't overbake.)

Directions
  1. In a bowl stir together first three ingredients.
  2. Add eggs and vanilla and stir in
  3. Add flours, powder, soda and salt - Then stir until blended
  4. Turn out into a greased 9x13x2
