Skillet Spaghetti With Andouille Sausage And Mushrooms Recipe

Ingredients

½ cup oil

½ cup onion, chopped

5 cloves garlic, chopped

1 cup mushrooms, sliced

1 cup andouille sausage, sliced

1- 28 oz. can crushed tomatoes

2 cups water

1 ½ tsp salt

½ lb. Spaghetti noodles, broken into pieces

½ cup heavy cream

½ cup fresh basil, chopped

1 ½ - 2 cups shredded cheese

Directions

Heat oven to 350 degrees.

Heat oil in a large skillet over medium heat.

Add onions and sauté until translucent.

Add garlic, sauté one minute longer.

Add mushrooms and sausage and sauté 2 - 3 minutes.

Add tomatoes water salt and sugar.

Stir.

Add noodles, stir and bring mixture to boil.

Reduce heat and simmer mixture for 7 - 8 minutes.

Stir in cream, and basil and cook until most of the liquid is absorbed, about 7-8 more minutes.

Sprinkle with shredded cheese

Place in oven just until cheese melts.

Serve immediately.

I think I'm going to make this tonight - just what I was searching for - something to do with my andouille, and I found it!! I also have onions up the wazoo to use up. (Damn Costco - whole bag of Vidalia sweets for only 5.99) My eyes are still burning from chopping and freezing them. So I might be using more than a 1/2 cup LOL
