Skillet Spaghetti With Andouille Sausage And Mushrooms Recipe
Another recipe from local restaurant The Tomato Head. Easy meal that tastes fabulous! Salad and crusty bread are all you need to add.

Ingredients
  • ½ cup oil
  • ½ cup onion, chopped
  • 5 cloves garlic, chopped
  • 1 cup mushrooms, sliced
  • 1 cup andouille sausage, sliced
  • 1- 28 oz. can crushed tomatoes
  • 2 cups water
  • 1 ½ tsp salt
  • ½ lb. Spaghetti noodles, broken into pieces
  • ½ cup heavy cream
  • ½ cup fresh basil, chopped
  • 1 ½ - 2 cups shredded cheese

Directions
  1. Heat oven to 350 degrees.
  2. Heat oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
  3. Add onions and sauté until translucent.
  4. Add garlic, sauté one minute longer.
  5. Add mushrooms and sausage and sauté 2 - 3 minutes.
  6. Add tomatoes water salt and sugar.
  7. Stir.
  8. Add noodles, stir and bring mixture to boil.
  9. Reduce heat and simmer mixture for 7 - 8 minutes.
  10. Stir in cream, and basil and cook until most of the liquid is absorbed, about 7-8 more minutes.
  11. Sprinkle with shredded cheese
  12. Place in oven just until cheese melts.
  13. Serve immediately.

Do you mind, for my family's special tastes, if I change the 1/2-cup heavy cream in your wonderful Skillet Spaghetti with Adouille Sausage and Mushrooms Recipe to 3/4-cup jarred pasta sauce. I rated you 4.7 only because of the change I was requesting. It is a definite 5 for everybody else, I am sure. -Susana


I think I'm going to make this tonight - just what I was searching for - something to do with my andouille, and I found it!! I also have onions up the wazoo to use up. (Damn Costco - whole bag of Vidalia sweets for only 5.99) My eyes are still burning from chopping and freezing them. So I might be using more than a 1/2 cup LOL


This is excellent. I used milk because I had no cream. VERY GOOD!
