Crayon Cupcakes Recipe

Crayon Cupcakes Recipe
Kids will enjoy making their own crayon cupcakes to use for rubbing textures. I do this with kindergarten students at the end of the year. This is how they get back their old crayons.

Ingredients
  • 1 bag of old crayons
  • 6 foil cupcake liners

Directions
  1. Have children unwrap the old crayons. They can sort them by color and then break them into small 1 inch pieces. This does not have to be perfect. Put the crayon pieces in the foil liners. Kids can mix colors and make their own cupcakes. Preheat the oven to 225.Bake them for 15 min. Keep watching them and when they are melted but not soupy take them out and let them cool. If you keep them in too long they will turn into one color so watch carefully and don't let them melt completely. It is fun to take them out of the foil when they are cool and see the great colors.
