Ingredients

How to make it

  • Mix the butter and sugar together.
  • Add vanilla and curry powder.
  • The recipe I used called for 2 Tbsp of milk, and I found that wasn't nearly enough to pull everything together. I suggest starting with 2-3 Tbsp, then adding more, 1 Tbsp at a time until you get the right consistency.
  • This makes enough to easily frost a 9" 2-layer cake.

I was lucky enough to eat a piece of the original cake by dancegypsy67 many years ago. I was looking for a similar recipe online, and was very surprised to find the exact same one! It was as incredible as I remember, although used with a spice cake mix instead of chocolate.

I received a comment some time ago, I guess it wasn't here, that's too good not to share...serve this with apple cake. Sounds like a perfect combination to me! I don't want to take credit for this, but I honestly don't remember who it came from - thank you whoever you are!

holy freaking yum on the curry chocolate cake.
seriously i BUY that chocolate mixture at a cheese shop nearby, they make these fascinating combos of chocolate and curry, chocolate and cayenne or chipotle. NICE that you thought to do it on a cake. BE MY FRIEND!

There's a new chocolate factory that opened up in Seattle-Theo Chocolates. I went on a factory tour and we were given new flavors to try. One was a chocolate bar with curry type spices mixed in. I was surprised at how much I liked it. Maybe I'll try the frosting on my next batch of chocolate cupcakes.
