Ingredients

How to make it

  • For the sauce: combine all ingredients and cook over medium heat until rhubarb is tender. You want some liquid in it (It may take a little over a cup of water).
  • =====================================================
  • For cobbler: Melt butter in 9 x 13 inch pan.
  • Mix the sugar, flour, baking powder together; then add the milk.
  • Add the flour sugar mixture to the butter in pan (after butter melts).
  • Add the rhubarb sauce (do not stir)
  • Add the strawberry slices scattered on top.
  • Bake in 350 degree oven about 20 minutes or until golden brown.
  • This is good with vanilla ice cream or you can eat it without.
  • ====================================================
  • Note: You will have a better crust if you use the self rising flour plus the 1/2 teaspoon baking powder.

    Hey Blue Eyes, great recipe and easy. My Mom made cobblers when I was a kid and this one ranks right up there with the best. I made it last Sunday and there is only a breakfast serving left for the morning! Thanks, and I will be experimenting with other fruits as Springs rolls on.

    I love the tasty blend of strawberry and rhubarb! When I was a child, it was a special day when my mother made strawberry-rhubarb pie and I am old!
