How to make it

  • Combine cornmeal and butter milk and let stand 10 minutes
  • In skillet cook sausage till done and drain on paper
  • Arrange 8 links spoke like in 9 inch deep dish, cut remaining sasauges in half and arrange between spokes.
  • In another bowl combine remaining dry ingerdients.
  • Cut in butter or margarine to coarse crumbs.
  • Stir egg and vanilla in first cornmeal mixture and add to crumb mixture, stirrring to blend.
  • Pour batter over sausages,
  • Bake 400 35 to 40 minutes or tested done in center.
  • Serve warm with syrup pour over pieces.
