This sounds good. What do you mean by long macaroni noodles?

Long macaroni noodles are the same length as regular spaghetti noodles. They are located in the same area in the grocery. Sometimes they are hard to find. I know Luxury Brand makes them as well as other companies. I have found them in Walmart, Albertsons, and other stores.

Wow, this sounds so good! Can't says I've ever heard of long macaroni noodles, but I'm sure I can find something great to go with this. Do you drain the tomatoes, or add them with the juice? I'm assuming they're not drained, just want to make sure.

I add the whole can,but I crush(tomatoes) them too. I prefer the whole tomatoes over the already crushed kind. The long macaroni noodles should be near the other pasta noodles like Fettuccine or spaghetti. These work well because you can slurp through the noodles! That adds to the dish! haha

Ding! 5! :) My kids love those noodles! (and so do I) I know the package gives them a fancy Italian name, but can't remember what it is because we always just call them "straw noodlies" ... does cure a dumpy day and makes dinner more silly when everyone is too serious.

This recipe reminds me of when I was a kid.
I loved the simplicity then and still make it today

Just a note were I come from long noodles are over yard long. We break them in half and then in half again before adding them to the boiling water.
I hope this does not make more confusion.

Look for Bucatini or Perciatelli (they're both the same thing) in the store. They're fun for a change. I can always find them at my Fred Meyer store (Kroger in other parts of the country). This does sound like a great comfort recipe. Yum! - Natalie
