Dads SOS Recipe
This recipe has been in the family ever since I can remember. It can be served for breakfast or supper, depending what you serve it over. It is really good

Ingredients
  • 1 pound 90% lean ground beef
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 1/2 medium green bell pepper, chopped
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 can evaporated milk
  • 1 can water, use evaporated milk can
  • milk, as required
  • 1 beef bouillon cube
  • 1 tsp. seasoned salt
  • 1/2 pepper
  • 1/4 tsp. garlic powder
  • 1 tsp. Worcestershire sauce

Directions
  1. In a large skillet, brown and break-up ground beef, do not over brown. Drain off fat and discard; set aside.
  2. In a 4-quart Dutch over medium heat, melt butter, add onion and bell pepper and saute until tender. Add flour with whisk to make a roux.
  3. Slowly add evaporated milk and water while stirring constantly. while it thickens.
  4. Add bouillon and seasonings.
  5. Simmer on low for 15 minutes, stirring often. do not let burn.
  6. Add milk as needed for thickness desired.
  7. Add ground beef so sauce, continue to cook for about 1 minute to warm beef.
  8. Serve over toast, biscuits, rice or whatever.
