- 1 pound 90% lean ground beef shopping list
- 1/2 cup butter shopping list
- 1 medium onion, chopped shopping list
- 1/2 medium green bell pepper, chopped shopping list
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour shopping list
- 1 can evaporated milk shopping list
- 1 can water, use evaporated milk can shopping list
- milk, as required shopping list
- 1 beef bouillon cube shopping list
- 1 tsp. seasoned salt shopping list
- 1/2 pepper shopping list
- 1/4 tsp. garlic powder shopping list
- 1 tsp. worcestershire sauce shopping list
How to make it
- In a large skillet, brown and break-up ground beef, do not over brown. Drain off fat and discard; set aside.
- In a 4-quart Dutch over medium heat, melt butter, add onion and bell pepper and saute until tender. Add flour with whisk to make a roux.
- Slowly add evaporated milk and water while stirring constantly. while it thickens.
- Add bouillon and seasonings.
- Simmer on low for 15 minutes, stirring often. do not let burn.
- Add milk as needed for thickness desired.
- Add ground beef so sauce, continue to cook for about 1 minute to warm beef.
- Serve over toast, biscuits, rice or whatever.
