Welsh Rarebit over Tomatoes and Toast

- 2/3 cup flour shopping list
- 1 tsp. salt shopping list
- 1/2 tsp. dry mustard shopping list
- 1/8 tsp. cayenne pepper shopping list
- 3 cups milk shopping list
- 3/4 tsp. worcestershire sauce shopping list
- 6 tbls. butter shopping list
- 3 cups sharp cheddar cheese, shredded shopping list
- 2 tomatoes, thinly sliced shopping list
- 8 slices bread, toasted shopping list
How to make it
- Mix flour, salt, dry mustard and cayenne in mixing bowl
- Add 1 cup milk slowly to form paste
- Mix in rest of milk and Worcestershire sauce
- Melt butter in double boiler
- Slowly add milk mixture
- Cook and constantly stir until mixture thickens
- Slowly add cheese, stirring until melted
- Put tomatoes on top of toast
- Pour Rarebit over top of tomatoes

I've always wanted to try Welsh Rarebit, but every recipe I've seen calls for dark beer, which I don't usually have it on hand. Your recipe would work for my pantry. Great post! - Natalie
