Ingredients

How to make it

  • Whisk half of the sugar with the egg yolks until light and fluffy. Add ground almonds and slowly stir in melted butter.
  • In another bowl whisk egg whites, adding the remainig sugar to form a stiff meringue. Quickly fold the meringue into the almond mixture.
  • Arrange cherries at the base of the prepared tart shell and fill the shell with the almond mixture. Bake at 375F for 30 to 35 minutes. Dust the center with powder sugar. Brush edges with jam and sprinkle nuts over the edge.

    What a wonderful way to use up some of the delicious cherries at the market right now - this looks just incredible, Ahmed (but then, when have any of your creations NOT looked incredible?!?)...can't wait to sink my teeth into this one! I love almonds and cherries together, too...Krum
