Lemon Bars

A friend from another site shared this wonderful recipe with me. She had actually sent me a batch in the mail along with other goodies. These are so delicious and everyone asks for the recipe.
Ingredients
- 1 C. (2 sticks butter) shopping list
- 1 C. sugar shopping list
- 2 C. flour shopping list
- 1 1/4 C. oatmeal (not instant) shopping list
- juice of 3 lemons shopping list
- Zest of 2 lemons, chopped fine shopping list
- Zest of 1 orange, chopped fine shopping list
- 1 (14 oz.) can sweetened condensed milk shopping list
How to make it
- Cream butter and sugar, then add flour and oatmeal to make dough it will be crumbly). Set aside. Stir juice and zest into milk. Set aside. Butter a 9 x 13 inch pan. Press 2/3 of the dough into the pan. Spread lemon/milk mixture evenly over the top of the dough. Sprinkle the remaining dough over the top. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 to 35 minutes until golden.
- When cool, slice into 1 inch squares.
