Loris Bodacious Big N Beefy Bluecheese Steak Burgers Recipe
I came up with this recipe on Saturday. Had company over, and they loved them! Served with Jack N Coke Baked Beans, My Dad's Slaw, Lemon Basil Potato Salad, and Lori's Brownie Surprise (all posted)

Ingredients
  • BLUE CHEESE FILLING
  • 4 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 4 oz crumbled blue cheese
  • 1/2 c shredded Colby Jack cheese
  • Juice froma lemon wedge
  • 1 T Worcestershire
  • Sprinkle fresh chives
  • BURGERS
  • 2 1/2 lbs ground sirloin
  • 1 package beefy onion soup mix
  • Generous shakes of seasoned salt and garlic pepper
  • 1 T chopped roasted garlic (from jar is fine)
  • 1/2 c grated parmesan cheese
  • 4 T Worcestershire
  • 2 t Liquid Smoke
  • 1 egg
  • 1/4 c breadcrumbs
  • GARNISHES
  • Romaine Letuce
  • Thick cut ripe red tomatoes
  • Good thick cut dill pickles
  • Sliced Red Onion
  • Great deli rolls, buttered and grilled

Directions
  1. Mix bue cheese filling with hands and form into disks about 3 inches in diameter, set in freezer
  2. Mix burger mixture together with hands and form into 6 patties, about 1/2 inch thick and 4-5 inches in diameter
  3. Place a cheese disk on top of each pattie, and work the edges of the meat up over the disk until it is enclosed in the pattie
  4. Heat grill while patties come to room temperature
  5. Grill over direct, medium heat, 10-12 minutes perside for a burger that is brown all the way through.
  6. ****NOTES*****
  7. Burger tips I learned on Food Network that have made a huge difference
  8. 1 Allow the meat to come to room temperature before grilling
  9. 2 Turn only once during the cooking process
  10. 3 Resist all urges to mash on the patties with the spatula while cooking
  11. 4 Let the patties be an uneven circle, those little crooks and crannies on the edges help it to cook evenly
