- ~~~These will vary to your taste and availability, here are just some ideas~~~ shopping list
- ***Please use this as a guideline*** shopping list
- 2T kosher salt shopping list
- 3T fresh herb or spice(any fresh herb will work, and no need to chop:sage, thyme, rosemary, chives, cilantro, basil, even parsley or celery leaves or seed) or use DRY minced garlic, onion or hot pepper shopping list
- 2t peppercorns shopping list
- ---also, as I did for the above blend, you can add lemon or lime zest to the above ingredients. lemon/basil or pepper, of course, but try lime with cilantro and pepper or hot peppers, etc Just experiment!--- shopping list
- Pulse all ingredients in clean coffee bean grinder or small food processor until combined shopping list
How to make it
- I only buy/use kosher or sea salt, and those "garlic salt" and 'celery salt" etc blends are 50% salt...and not the good stuff. So, I make my own. Also a great way to use up your own fresh herbs, as the salt acts as a preserve for the herbs. Just make sure to use only DRY ingredients, no liquids. Have fun with it. :)
- ***the blend in the photos is sage/lemon zest/sea salt and mixed peppercorns*** See Photo
I have a grinder I use ONLY for this purpose!

Good post Keni, and love the pics, too. Yeah, I quit buying garlic salt and celery salt YEARS ago. Why should I? Gave this a 5 - no guess work involved - I know it is good.
justjakesmom in Everett loved it
