Ingredients
  • Red bell pepper
  • Tuna or egg salad
  • Thin pretzel stick
  • Cheese slice
  • Cream cheese (dab)
  • Red pepper flag

Directions
  1. Launch a fleet of edible sailboats for a nutritional snack your kids will sail right through.
  2. Cut a red pepper in half lengthwise and remove the seeds.
  3. Fill each pepper boat with lunchtime cargo, such as tuna or egg salad.
  4. Sink a thin pretzel stick mast into the center of the boat, then add two triangular pieces of cheese for sails.
  5. Use a dab of cream cheese to fix a small red pepper flag to the top of the mast.

Alterations


I have grands who won't eat peppers, so I used hollowed-out Roma tomatoes, done sideways. Almost the same shape, just a bit smaller. But then they could eat more than one! Yay!
