Breakfast Before

- 5 slices French or Italian bread, crusts cut off and cubed shopping list
- 2 lbs. sausage (I use hot Italian or Hot Jimmy Dean) your choice shopping list
- 2 cups X-tra sharp cheddar cheese shopping list
- 6 eggs shopping list
- 2 cups milk shopping list
- 1 tsp. dry mustard shopping list
- 1 tsp. salt shopping list
- couple grinds of pepper shopping list
- 1 green pepper, chopped shopping list
- 1 small sweet onion, chopped shopping list
- 1/2 lb mushrooms, sliced (I like baby bellas or creminis) shopping list
How to make it
- Place bread cubes in buttered 9 x 13 inch baking dish
- Brown and drain sausage
- Spoon sausage over bread
- Sprinkle on half of the cheese
- Beat together the eggs, milk, mustard, salt and pepper and set aside
- Saute green pepper, onion and mushrooms
- Spread sauted vegetables on top of cheese layer
- Stir again and then pour milk mixture overall
- Sprinkle on the rest of the cheese
- Cover and refrigerate overnight (or 8 hours)
- Set out to bring to room temp. for 30 to 45 minutes
- Bake at 350 for 35 to 40 minutes
- Let set for 10 to 15 minutes before cutting into squares and serving
