Ingredients

How to make it

  • Heat a frying pan over medium heat until hot.
  • Add olive oil. When hot add onions and garlic and cook until tender (try not to brown, it changes the flavor).
  • Add salami and cook about 2 minutes, then add the tomatoes, salt and pepper. Bring to a boil, then lower hear and simmer uncovered 20 minutes or until it is as thick as you like.
  • Serve over your favorite pasta with lots of parmesan cheese.

This sounds very good! I don't like sausage because of the fennel seeds, so this would work much better for me! Great idea Joe!

OK - I had an end chunk of salami (don't know how much it weighed), half of an onion, an open container of Parmesan and 1/2 a box of bow tie pasta to use up so I decided to make this. It was super delicious! I cut the recipe in half and used an 8 oz. can of tomato sauce. I also chopped the onion and garlic and put the garlic in the pan at the same time I put the salami in. I also like pesto, salami and provolone grilled sandwiches, so I added some fresh basil. The salami took on kind of a sausage-y flavor. Really super! Thank you for the post. I posted a picture. I hope it turned out to your liking. :)
