Onion Chowder

- 1 pound sliced bacon, chopped shopping list
- 4 large white onions, chopped shopping list
- salt shopping list
- 32 oz. container of chicken broth shopping list
- 1/4 cup flour shopping list
- 1 cup of whole milk or half and half shopping list
- 1/4 cup finely chopped chives shopping list
How to make it
- In a large dutch oven, cook the bacon over medium heat until crisp, about 12 minutes. Using a slotted spoon, transfer to paper towels to drain. Add the onions to the pot, season with salt and cook for about 10 mintues.
- Sprinkle the onions with the flour and stir for about 1 minute. Stir in the chicken broth and bring to a boil. Lower the heat and simmer for about 30 minutes.
- Stir in the milk or half and half and heat through.
- Garnish with the bacon and chives and serve.
