Ingredients

How to make it

  • Butter a 15 inch x 10 inch x 1 inch pan with 1 1/2 teaspoons butter set aside
  • in a heavy saucepan, combine sugar and remaining butter
  • cook and stir over medium heat until a candy thermometer reads 290 degrees( soft crack stage)
  • remove from heat stir in almonds
  • immediately pour into prepared pan
  • sprinkle with 1 cup of the chocolate chips let stand until the chips become glossy........spread evenly over the top
  • sprinkle with 1 cup pecans
  • cover and refrigerate until set about 1 hour...........
  • in microwave melt remaining chips
  • stir unti smooth
  • spread over toffee and sprinkle with remaining pecans..cover and refrigerate again for 30 minutes
  • then break into 2 inch pieces
  • store in an airtight container
  • yields 3 1/2 pounds candy.............

    Fantastic recipe, I do something similar (yours sounds better) and people ask if the secret ingredient if Crack Cocaine because they can't stop eating it. Great posting.

    OK, I made this Tuesday night (12-23-08). My candy thermometer never made it past 225 so after an 35 minutes I poured in the pan. I will post REAL pics and everything that was incurred in making this --------
