Grandfathers Or Grandperes Dessert

This is a very old French Canadian recipe for Grandfathers or Grandpères dessert that has been passed down from generation to generation. It is as popular today as it was back then.
Ingredients
- 2 cups cake and pastry flour shopping list
- 1 tablespoon baking powder shopping list
- 1/2 tsp. salt shopping list
- 3 tablespoons butter shopping list
- 3/4 cup milk, 2% or homogenized shopping list
- 2 cups Pure Canadian maple syrup shopping list
- 2 cups water shopping list
How to make it
- Sift together flour, baking powder and salt.
- Cut in butter with pastry blender.
- Add milk and mix well.
- Combine maple syrup with water in a saucepan and bring to a boil.
- Drop the dough in the hot maple syrup by the tablespoonful.
- Cover and cook for 25 minutes.
- Serve hot, pouring the syrup that they were cooked in, over top.
