Ingredients

How to make it

  • In a large pot or Dutch oven, over medium heat cook kielbasa, onions and garlic in 2 tbsp. olive oil until browned, about 5-7 minutes.
  • Stir in flour, and thyme. Cook and stir for 1 minute. Add chicken broth and milk and whisk until smooth.
  • Stir in potatoes, salt and pepper. Cover and bring to a simmer. Cook, covered, until potatoes are tender, about 25 minutes. Stir occasionaly during cooking.
  • Add greens or shredded cabbage and cook until tender. Note: cabbage will take longer to cook than greens.
  • During the last 5 minutes of cooking, stir in the chopped green onions and parsely. Serve hot, with crusty bread.

That is one good lookin' hearty soup! I love smoked sausage in soup - gives it such a full, rich flavor. I will have to try this delicious sounding soup while it's still cold around here (our winter is never going to end, I've decided!)...thanks, Juels ~ Krum
