Fat Alberts Recipe
I don't know where the name came from, but they are a fun little nibble and very easy to make. Almost like candy.

  • 1 cup of butter
  • 1 cup of brown sugar

  • 1 small package of slivered almonds or whatever nut you prefer

Directions
  1. Line a greased cookie sheet with graham crackers.

  3. Pour over crackers and bake at 400 degrees for 5 to 7 minutes.
  4. Sprinkle generously with your choice of toppings, the toffee chips and almonds are my favorites.
  5. Cut in squares within 10 minutes or they will break and shatter when cut.

Is it similar to peanut brittle?

This sounds really good to me....

I like the addition of graham crackers.. I have had it with regular soda crackers... Nice twist on this! Good post

I wouldn't call it a brittle, but more like the inside of a butterfinger candy, hard to describe the texture. The butter and sugar change the graham cracker into something crisper. They will shatter if you wait to long to cut but then I use the broken pieces over ice cream and call it a special sundae. There aren't mistakes in the kitchen, just opportunities to make it into something else yummy.

I like this and love your comment about mistakes in the kithcen. So true!

Sounds good to me thanks
