Buttermilk Pie

This is recipe is taken from The Philadelphia Inquirer. It was originally published in Endangered Recipes by Lari Robling. A simple to make but delicious dessert pie!
Ingredients
- 1 9" pie crust, store-bought OR homemade shopping list
- 2 eggs shopping list
- 1 cup sugar shopping list
- 1 cup buttermilk shopping list
- 1 stick butter, melted shopping list
- 2 tablespoons flour shopping list
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract shopping list
- Freshly grated nutmeg for garnish, if desired shopping list
How to make it
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees F..
- In large bowl beat the eggs until smooth.
- Add sugar, buttermilk, butter, flour and vanilla.
- Mix well.
- Line a 9" pie pan with 1 round of unbaked pie crust.
- Pour filling into crust.
- Sprinkle with nutmeg, if desired.
- Bake for 40 to 45 minutes OR until just firm.
- The filling should be set but jiggle a bit in the center.
