This was a winner for the wedding reception - the bride and groom-to-be loved how easy they were to make, too (as did I!). With some store bought brownies bites, a can of “fluffy whipped white frosting” and some homemade chocolate frosting (sor... More

Ingredients
  • 1 container “two-bite brownies bites” (available at most grocery bakeries or places like Costco and Sam's Club)
  • 2 containers Whipped Fluffy White frosting (do not substitute regular white frosting as it is not the same consistency as the “whipped fluffy” variety)
  • Made from scratch chocolate frosting:
  • 3 cups powdered sugar
  • 6 tablespoons melted butter
  • 1/3 cup or more of cocoa (depending on how chocolate-y you like it)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • about 4 tablespoons half and half, to make it spreadable

Directions
  1. Mix all frosting ingredients together with a mixer. The "creamy-ness" of this frosting comes from the half and half, so water or milk won't make it as creamy. If you can manage it, don't substitute!
  2. Cut brownie bites in half lengthwise.
  3. On cut surface of bottom half, place a good teaspoon or more of the whipped fluffy white frosting (I prefer lots, but use as much or as little as you prefer).
  4. On the top portion of the brownie bite, generously frost with homemade chocolate frosting; lay frosted top on white frosted bottom half.
  5. That’s it – you’re done!
  6. Note: if you’re into nuts or coconut or toffee bits or whatever topping you can think of, sprinkle some of your desired topping over the freshly frosted tops of the brownies bites – as the frosting dries, the topping will adhere to it.

I love a simple recipe and this one is perfect for when my boys bring home a bunch of hungry friends! You know that I'll be making these, Krum! With the crowds of kids I get here, I'll have to make several batches as I know that these will be a big hit round here! Thanks so much for the idea and the recipe!

I'm Back.....great recipe..xoxox

Krumkake, these were a definite winner tonight! The guys munched on some earlier and they're going to finish off the huge tray of these that are sitting in the kitchen saved for their dessert.
I love your homemade chocolate frosting and you are right about the creamy texture and using the half and half. I think that frosting would be perfect for a larger cake and just right for cupcakes! So thank you again for the recipe! It deserves much more than a "5!"

Now your talking my language! I buy these brownie bites all the time from COSTO and the kids love them. I will have to try this version..it has to be great!

Im making these soon!
