From notyourmomma 14 years agoIngredients
- 1 pound large shrimp, peeled and deveined shopping list
- 1 1/2 cup tomato juice shopping list
- 1/4 cup roughly chopped Italian parsley shopping list
- 3 cloves garlic, diced shopping list
- 1/2 teaspoon celery seed shopping list
- 3 ounce vodka shopping list
- 1 1/2 teaspoons worcestershire sauce shopping list
- 2 lemons, juiced shopping list
- 1 1/2 teaspoons prepared horseradish shopping list
- 1/2 teaspoon freshly ground peppers shopping list
- 2-3 dashes of your favorite hot sauce shopping list
- 3 tbsp. of oil (if you saute instead of broil) shopping list
- 1 package of whole wheat linguine shopping list
How to make it
- Peel and devein the shrimp. Keep cold.
- Mix together tomato juice, parsley, garlic, celery seed, vodka, Worcestershire sauce, lemon juice, horseradish and pepper and hot sauce.
- Marinate shrimp for a minimum of 20 minutes or up to 2 hours.
- Bring water to a boil and start the linguine cooking.
- Preheat oven to broil 500 degrees.
- drain shrimp from marinade.
- Broiling shrimp will take about 3-4 minutes per side,
- Oven roasting at 400 degrees will take about 10 - 12 minutes
- Heat any remaining marinade to a boil and toss with the cooked drained hot linguine.
- Top with Hot Shrimp.
- Serves 4
- I've tried to pan saute the shrimp, and it doesn't work unless drained and patted dry. Cook in a scant tablespoon or two of oil or combo of butter/oil.
- Then add the sauce back in the pan to coat the shrimp and then pour over the linguine noodles. You just want to heat the vodka enough to make the flavor palatable.
