Easiest apple cake ever. Fred ate half of it in one sitting. I did have a lot of cake to apple ratio and next time I'll add a few more apples. My gala apples were quite small. I think the granny smith would have been the right size. I love that I didn't have to peel the apple and it added a nice texture to the dish. I did add cinnamon as suggested by MissouriFarmWife. I used a yellow cake mix. I'm going to have some for breakfast. Fred asked for vanilla ice cream to top his cake the next time I make it.

That does look easy! I now use Gala apples when I bake. I really like them but they are a little smaller. It looks like it smelled wonderful!

Here's a link to a Basic Cake Mix so you can dial up your own amount of cake flour in a recipe to keep from having an extra open box of cake mix. Plus it saves bux.
