Breezy Kismet Pizza

yes, I made this recipe on a dare from the submitter, but I tried hard to review it fairly...we both know this is NOT "my kind" of recipe, yet I made it, tasted it, photographed and reviewed it honestly.

I won't likely make it, again, but, that's a reflection of ME and my tastes, not the recipe...it actually came together just as you'd expect it to. :)

Have a look, if you dare! hehehe It was fun.

also....just a lil note on some of the other recipes I've seen posted, here...I've looked at a couple from chef_irish, and I've decided not to make them based on what seemed "off" amounts or ingredients. I try to make recipes I can tell are made by who submitted them, as I do with mine, so if there's a problem, we can, perhaps, try an' figure it out, together.

Sorry Lovebreezy...but if I made that pizza, my Mother would definitely disown me for three reasons:

    1. Spam
    2. Velveeta Cheese
    3. Canned Pizza Sauce

Its very creative though! Great pics Keni!

I had to go look! LOL We would love this with a few alterations...jarred pizza sauce I can do with a little "doctoring". Spam I could probably do on pizza...would probably add Kielbasa instead. Velveeta...NOT in this lifetime. I just hate that stuff. i think it's the saltiness...? And I love salt, so, go figure. LOL But with some shredded Italian blend, mozzerella and parmesan...would be really good. Love chunks of fresh tomato on pizza.

Spam is whale droppings. And I used to turn my nose up at Velveeta. Do a taste test. Put a slice of American cheese and Velveeta side by each and try to tell the difference. You have a 50/50 shot so do it several times.

I know, I know...and she KNEW how much I hated Spam and Velveeta...everyone here said it could only be more my nemesis if the sauce was made from "cream of something" soup :)

but, the truth is, some love both those things...and, if they do, then I bet they'd LOVE this! :)

Thanks for checking it out, you guys...I wanted to make sure to give a fair review.....and I don't wanna draw any negativity to this recipe, cus, as I said, it was exactly what you'd expect it to be, and if you are a fan of those ingredients, then it's a must try! :)

Glad you liked the pics, Lillian...I wanted to make it clear we made it, followed the recipe VERY closely, and I even made my own crust for it! :)

Oh I disagree, Points...I never "want" Spam, but on this, it was much more palatable than the Velveeta...

now, I don't use regular American cheese, either, I like the Sharp American..it's less processed and has a better flavor, even though I rarely use it, anyway, either...

Velveeta, however, just leaves a vaseline feel in my mouth, and the flavor is over whelming to me

at least is Spam is made from meat...I think..;) Velveeta is a cheese by product...I'm leery of any "cheese" that doesn't spoil at room temperature....maybe EVER...hehehehe

I am with you on the cream of something soup...I can always taste it in a recipe. Even though one of mine has it in it :) The lowfat chicken pot pie I don't know how else to make the cream inside lowfat without using the lowfat cream of chicken soup..
I actually don't think I have ever tasted spam. I am okay with the velveta although I haven't had it since I was a kid.

well, I make my own cream of soups, so it's lower in sodium and fat, naturally that way...you can make 'em with lowfat milk

I don't make them because of the fat, so I make 'em with at least 2% milk, but it's not a problem to sub

I keep saying I am going to search out that cream of soups. I have heard it mentioned before and I was pretty sure it was one of yours Keni. Is it just one recipe or do you have a few?

I found it that if you use cream of celery in place of other cream of canned soups, you don't even taste that, I know what you are talking about. Canned Cream of mushroom is the worst for me. Seriously, almost every time I use a recipe that calls for a can of cream of something, I sub it with cream of celery. Very subtle taste!

Velveeta makes the best mac and cheese, I wouldn't use it anywhere else. I never tasted spam, it looks like dog food.

Points I don't use sliced American cheese either...they do taste similar, depending on the brand of American cheese slices - especially the cheap ones. I used to like both when I was a kid, but, for some reason I don't anymore.

Bought a deli block of American cheese. One of those 5 inch square by a foot and a half long. Maybe it's 4 inch square. Plan on using it in my cheesy rice recipe as soon as I run out of the pasteurized processed cheese spread.

It irked me that Velveeta went up a dollar a box when gas hit $4 a gallon and hasn't gone down.

What about cheese whiz? Made by the same company as Velveeta and is supposed to be one of the original ingredients in a philly cheese steak sandwich that make it taste so good. Isn't it a pasteurized processed cheese spread too? Does it get trashed as a sub-species to cheese?

Sorry, Points...don't like it either...that's the stuff in the jar, right? Another one of those that I used to love! What's funny though, is that I like the cheese in a can on crackers once in a while...same exact thing...I know...my kids think I'm weird anyway...maybe I really am! LOL

Take a look at the ingredients on the cheese whiz and spam. Stuff is LOADED with chemicals. No wonder this country gets so many cancer cases all the time!

And Keni, I appreciate you accepting the "double dog dare" and making this as I know it's far from your norm. To tell you the truth, it's not my norm either but sometimes you just want comfort food and don't care about fat or calories or...
