    Pecan Puffs By: Good4U

These are SO good!!!! I made them a little too big, though, because after doubling the recipe I came out with 38 cookies instead of 48. It's OK b/c I made them for a cookie exchange for which I needed 3 dozen, so had just enough for my beau and I each to taste one. YUMMMM!!! Will be making another batch just for us soon!

I think my mom used to make something like these. I remember that sugar melting away the minute I put one in my mouth.
A new link to IMI is never a bad thing, DT. :)

These have been on my Christmas baking short list since everyone was talking about them last year! Finally made up a double batch this morning and they're everything everyone says! I love the texture, a very light shortbread type and combined with the sweetness of the cookie, the nuts and the icing sugar....it's a total winning combination. And come on.....they look like little snowballs too! How cute is that! :) Will add my picture to the recipe page as soon as the Internet quits giving me grief! LOVE the fact they will keep in a covered container for a goodly amount of time. Thanks Joce! Great recipe! :)

Just like mom's. These were her favorite, as kids we called them "snowballs".

Great pic! I am just delighted that you liked them Janet! They are such a Christmas tradition in my family and it is nice to share traditions with others:) Hopefully maybe they might pick some of them up for themselves? I thank you and my Mom and Grandmother would be delighted that people are still making them. We have called them Snow Balls as well:)
Once again thank you to all who have made them:)

Your beautiful picture looks exactly like the snowballs I make every year but without nuts. I think the nuts detract from the buttery flavor of the cookies so leave them out. They're our favorite Christmas cookie. Guess what I'm making today?
